Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
